In 2018, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford bravely testified against then-U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh for sexually assaulting her when they were teenagers in the summer of 1982.
The president then targeted Dr.Ford and tried to cast doubt on her allegations.
As a response, we created…
thousands of platform with simple templates to encourage the survivors of sexual abuse speak up together why they didn’t report immediately.
Since the launch, more than 20k brave survivors
messaged us their stories to be shared on @WhyIDidntReportIt
and those stories got millions of social impression.
#1 Simple Template Flyer
We posted more than 5000 copies of fliers all around NYC.
We were also able to reach other cities and countries around the world through our volunteers’ help.
People shared their stories via their Instagram accounts or in handwriting on the flyer.
People take a photo of the flyer and type their stories on the Instagram Story feature.
If they tag our Instagram account @whyididntreportit, we also share it on our Story feature.
People share their stories in handwriting.
This way also educates people who have not known well about why the survivors of sexual assault didn’t report.
Everyday, we’ve got hundreds of stories shared from the survivors.
#2 Guerrilla Large Scale Poster
We installed a large scale #WhyIDidntReport posters in high-traffic locations in NYC.
Union Sq, Washington Sq, Madison Sq, Times Sq, and in front of the Trump Tower.
The posters made a space for survivors to share their stories in public, and for supporters to share their emotion.

#3 Pop-up Gallery
To give survivors a safe place to share their experiences and further the healing process,
we opened the Pop-up Gallery funded by Kat Sullivan, a survivor of child sexual abuse, for 4 days in Soho, NYC
700+ survivors and supporters came to share their stories and love.
Work In Progress.
Please follow our Instagram account @whyididntreportit to see the heartbreaking stories from all brave survivors.
We’ll keep hearing, believing and fighting for all survivors.
